How will this study program help me with my NCLEX-RN® preparation?
The purpose of this study program is to provide structure for content review that is aligned with the 2016-2019 NCLEX-RN® Test Plan. This interactive program is unique in that it identifies potential areas of the Test Plan that may challenge graduates. Key areas of review are highlighted, review questions are posed and study tips are provided for each relevant activity statement identified on the Test Plan. Many graduates spend hours just organizing their study notes, rather than focusing on studying content in detail. The NCLEX-RN® requires an in-depth study approach. Therefore, this study program shows you how to use study strategies such as study maps, content mapping, fictional client charts and case studies to help advance your ability to critically think and learn concepts in detail. This interactive study program outlines a 15 week study plan to help you prepare for the NCLEX-RN®. After completion of all modules you will be given access to our newly launched CAT Simulator Exam.Back to Index
Do your products have a money back guarantee?
Yes. The First Writer and Repeat Writer programs have a money back guarantee if you are unsuccessful on the NCLEX-RN®. Please note that the Pharmacology Study Program does not offer a money back guarantee because the client need area of Pharmacological and Parental Therapies contains several activity statements outside of pharmacological review and it is difficult to target if a candidate is having difficulty with pharmacology or another area.Back to Index
How does this NCLEX-RN® Study Program differ from other NCLEX-RN® resources on the market?
This study program evolved from an approach used to help remediate repeat writers of registration exams by Dr. Kramer-Kile. Dr. Kramer-Kile has worked with repeat writers the past 9 years and has found that targeted active learning strategies focused directly on registration exam test plan content incur the highest rates of success in graduates who are struggling to pass (rather than an entire nursing program review). Dr. Kramer-Kile specializes in advanced teaching strategies for disease management and pharmacology. She develops approaches to learning that are fun, informative and help students to retain information. Throughout the program you will hear Dr. Kramer-Kile refer to “Active Learning Strategies” these are strategies that help you to use your nursing textbooks to work through review questions and exercises, special approaches to help you organize important content for the exam and practical applications of content knowledge into real-world settings. Dr. Kramer-Kile has a passion for undergraduate nursing education and in helping students to transition into the RN role.Back to Index
How will this NCLEX-RN® Study Program actually help me study?
This study program provides a detailed 15 week checklist to keep you on track. It has been designed within an educational framework aligned with the current NCLEX-RN® Test Plan based on active learning strategies. By building on your knowledge of nursing content organized in the four client areas outlined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) NCLEX-RN® 2016-2019 Test Plan you will learn to develop your knowledge, application and critical thinking skills in a different way than just learning to memorize content from your nursing program. Many candidates do not access important national and state/provincial Best Practice Guidelines or regulatory documents while they study. This guide also addresses concerns regarding Canadian-Educated graduate and Internationally-Educated Nurses transition to the NCLEX-RN® exam by targeting potential areas of vulnerability for these graduates/nurses on the current NCLEX-RN® Test Plan.Back to Index
I have failed the NCLEX-RN® will the Repeat Writer Study Program help me?
This study program emerged from the author’s work with repeat writers of the exam. It provides a targeted structured approach for content review using the current Test Plan. The purpose of this program is to focus both first time and repeat writers on content review. The repeat writer course offers targeted strategies and resources to those individuals who have been unsuccessful on the NCLEX-RN®.Back to Index
Can I print the documents while taking the program?
There are many parts of this interactive study program that you can print off to help you in your review. Part of the program focuses on making a study binder to be used alongside practice questions. This binder contains key documents, tables and exercises from the program to help you better approach NCLEX-RN® type practice questions that you print from the program.Back to Index
I have left my studying to the last minute. Will this Study Program help me?
It is never wise to leave your NCLEX-RN® preparation to the last minute. This study program has been designed with at least 15 week study plan in mind. However, it is common that many candidates wait 1-2 months prior to the exam to prepare. Content review within this study program is designed in five parts so you can focus on different areas of the Test Plan. Identify areas of priority review if you are working with limited time. If you are a repeat writer use your test results to guide you and start in the client needs areas you were below the passing average in (However, my experience working with repeat writers of the NCLEX-RN® is that they need to slow down and reset their preparation strategies). Please remember that this study program involves active learning strategies. This means that you will be expected to look up content for review, complete exercises and make study maps/content maps as you progress. If you are looking for a resource that contains lecture videos and easy ways to just memorize information this program is not for you! This program is designed to help nursing graduates engage in content review aligned with the current NCLEX-RN® Test Plan, engage in active strategies so you are learning not just trying to memorize content and complete in-depth pharmacological and disease management review.
The goal of this program is to provide you with learning strategies based on educational theory that will in turn help you to develop your evolving nursing practice.Back to Index
My nursing program recommends other NCLEX-RN® resources. How can I tell which resource is the best one to use to prepare for the NCLEX-RN®?
This study program provides feedback regarding various NCLEX-RN® preparation tools from an undergraduate educator’s perspective who has worked extensively with candidates who struggle on the exam. There is not one set tool or resource that will fully prepare you for this exam. You need to learn to combine various resources to better increase your chances for success on the exam. This study program helps to identify relevant NCLEX-RN® resources and provides strategies for their use. This study program strongly recommends the NCSBN Learning Extension NCLEX-RN® course for the practice questions in this site. These questions are well written and are aligned with the content outlined on the current NCLEX-RN® Test Plan. There are also questions in this study program and a 165 question practice exam. The goal of the 165 question practice exam is to test you on content areas that candidates find challenging on the exam and to make you stronger in common areas of vulnerability. The NCSBN Learning Extension NCLEX-RN® course is a great resource to use in study groups after you have completed this program.
One piece of advice that Dr. Kramer-Kile offers to students looking for NCLEX-RN® resources is to ensure that they are aligned with the current 2016-2019 NCLEX-RN® Test Plan and that the course is taught by a nursing educator who is familiar with undergraduate curriculum and the needs of a learner who is just entering into practice. A reputable NCLEX-RN® review website should always contain who the author is and their credentials. Please see the About the Author tab on this website to find more about the author of this Study Program.
Why is it important to know the Current Test Plan for the NCLEX-RN®?
Many candidates take the NCLEX-RN® without ever looking over the Test Plan. The Test Plan tells you exactly which content is an area of priority on the exam. This study program is designed to help organize your study notes in direct alignment with the current Test Plan and provides ways to help you apply and critically think with the content you study. It is important when you are studying to address all 4 of the client needs areas addressed on the 2013-2016 NCLEX-RN® Test Plan. Use the order presented in the chapters of this study program to help build your knowledge for the NCLEX-RN®. It is helpful to take a large binder and divide it into the four client needs areas. Print off the educator’s version of the 2016-2019 NCLEX-RN® Test Plan and put it in the front of your binder so you can reference it as needed (linked below).

Why are the answers not provided immediately to the worksheets in this Study Program?
Real learning does not occur through memorization, it occurs through active engagement with content. The worksheets and review exercises are designed to help direct your studying towards particular content. They are best utilized when you answer the review questions and download the linked documents. It is up to you to make study notes within each of the worksheet areas in order to understand the key content addressed. The goal in completing these worksheets is to increase your exposure to important concepts that are frequently understudied but central to the exam competency framework.Back to Index
